Special Events in July

• July 24 Friday ~ An after-hours blues dance every fourth Friday of the month at Academie Duello (422 Richards Street) in downtown Vancouver. Drop-in blues lesson from 10:15-11:00pm, then dancing until 3:00am. Admission is $8.

Swing Dance during the Week

Monday

• The Yale - Dance to live R&B music on Monday nights at the Yale, a Rhythm and Blues bar downtown at the corner of Drake and Granville. Band starts at roughly 9:45pm. No cover charge but please support the bar. To find out who's playing, go to The Yale's website.

Tuesday

• Mission - Free outdoor dancing every Tuesday in Mission at the Fraser River Heritage Park from 7-9 pm rain or shine. Dance area is covered. 7494 Mary Street, Mission. Click here for direction. For details, go to Suburban Swing.

Friday

• Swingin' in the Park - Starting July 3rd, Fat City Swing will be dancing at the new Spirit Square in Douglas Park from 7:00pm - sundown. Join them for this nine-week free dance series. Douglas Park is at 206 Street and Douglas Crescent. This event brought to you by Fat City Swing in cooperation with the City of Langley.

Sunday

• Suburban Swing - Swing at the Abbotsford Seniors Centre Ballroom at 33889 Essendene Avenue in Abbotsford (get off Hwy 1 at Exit 90, go north, turn right onto Essendene). Beginner drop-in lesson from 7:45-8:30pm, then dancing until 11:00pm. Cost is $8 or $7 for students. This is a Suburban Swing event.

• Jump Joint Swing - Swing dance in Surrey #110, 12332 Patullo Place (by the Scott Road Skytrain station). Beginner drop-in lesson from 8:00-8:30pm, then dancing until 11:00pm. Cost is $5. This is a Sweet Swing event.
